Family Friendly Halloween Events in ChicagoFranken Plaza Kids Activities for Chicagoween in October
Look out! Daley Plaza is turning into Franken Plaza for a family friendly Halloween event, pumpkin carving,
acrobats and fun, Kids in costume march in parade.
Kid friendly Halloween activities for the family will be held in the City of Chicago, for Chicagoween at Franken Plaza. Daley Plaza will be revamped into scary Franken Plaza, complete with a new structure, pumpkin decorating, spooky storytellers, scary movie nights and Midnight Circus. On October 25 The Halloween Parade invites kids in costume to join in the march. Franken Plaza at Daley PlazaHaunted Village at Franken Plaza. On October 17 Daley Plaza will turn into a spooky Chicagoween Plaza. Chicagoween kicks off at 5 pm with two performances from Midnight Circus. The Haunted village will be open through Halloween, October 31. Pumpkin Plaza will be open every day of the week, but hours will vary. Monday through Wednesday the Plaza will be open from 11 am to 3 pm. On Thursday through Sunday the hours are 11 am to 8 pm. Admission is free. Family friendly entertainment at the plaza includes pumpkin decorating, Midnight Circus, Spunn and Pyrotechniq, Monstro City and Halloween inspired movies.
Halloween Movie NightsHalloween movies will be shown on Saturday and Sunday evenings at 6:00 pm. Bring a chair.
Scary StorytellingBroadway in Chicago will be telling scary Halloween stories on October 31 at 3:30 pm. The State Street Halloween Happening ParadeThe kid friendly parade is on Saturday, October 25. Kids are welcome to join in the fun by marching in costume. The parade steps off at noon at the corner of State and Randolph Streets.Cast members of the Broadway play Wicked will be on hand. Parade goers are being encouraged to dress as Elphaba, the witch from Wicked. After the parade, kids can enjoy the festivities at Franken Plaza, including trick-or-treating, Midnight Circus in performance and a costume contest. There is no pumpkin decorating on parade day. Admission is free. Say Boo to the Flu Free flu shots will be administered to children and their families on Saturday, October 25, while supplies last. Say Boo to the Flu is a national vaccination campaign. Chicago Park DistrictsIn addition to the activities at Daley Plaza, parks throughout the city will be holding family activities, including pumpkin patches, haunted houses and scary theater.
